An Educating “We”: Living the 10 Objectives of the Global Compact on Education
USG–UISG Educators Receive New Operational Tools

Within the framework of the collaboration between the Union of Superiors General (USG) and the International Union of Superiors General (UISG), and in continuity with the journey of the Global Education Pact, practical materials have been shared with educators to concretely support the educational mission in diverse contexts.
A significant contribution to this work has been offered by the OIEC – International Office of Catholic Education, an organization that coordinates and represents Catholic educational institutions worldwide. In particular, OIEC has promoted the development of a booklet that gathers concrete proposals, lines of action, and practical tools to translate the orientations of the Global Education Pact into the daily life of educational communities.
This commitment is rooted in the Apostolic Letter of Pope Leo XIV, Designing New Maps of Hope, published on 27 October 2025, which calls for renewing education as a space of encounter, human growth, and the building of hope, placing at its center the dignity of the person, fraternity, and care for our common home.
The OIEC booklet does not aim to offer prescriptive models, but rather to foster creative and shared educational processes, in respect of diverse cultural and social contexts. It emerges from dialogue among multiple ecclesial and educational experiences and seeks to promote co-responsibility and the building of alliances.
As Sr. Priscilla Latela, President of the Education Commission of the Unions of Superiors General, emphasizes, this work is situated within a deeply synodal horizon and is an invitation to "walk together, weave alliances, and build a 'we' capable of generating hope and a future."
Religious congregations, together with lay people and educational institutions, thus renew their commitment to integral education, centered on the person and responsive to the challenges of our time, with particular attention to the most vulnerable contexts.
These tools represent a concrete invitation to move into action, with the awareness that education is an act of hope built together through relationships, collaboration, and a shared vision.
