Laudato Si' Action Platform

The Executive Council of the Usg supports this initiative

The Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, at the invitation of pope Francis, is launching the Laudato Si' Action Platform, a multi-year program that seeks to engage the entire catholic world in a process of ecological conversion, accordingto the spirit of Laudato Si' and integral ecology.
The Executive Council of the USG, aware of the importance and urgency of the issue, expressed its support for this initiative during its meeting on 22 february 2021, and encourages all USG member congregations to join forces, in a coordinated manner, in the face of this important challenge.

This too is a season for undertaking prophetic actions.

Many young people all over the world are making their voices heard and calling for courageous decisions. 

They feel let down by too many unfulfilled promises, by commitments made and then ignored for selfish interests or out of expediency. 

The young remind us that the earth is not a possession to be squandered, but an inheritance to be handed down.

They remind us that hope for tomorrow is not a noble sentiment, but a task calling for concrete actions here and now. 

We owe them real answers, not empty words, actions not illusions.
