Fr. Beniamin Bąkowski has been elected as the new Superior General of the Pauline Order. Until now, he has served as Provincial of the German Province. The election took place on 5 March during the General Chapter of the Order, held at the Shrine of Jasna Góra.

Profile of the Father General:
Fr. Beniamin Bąkowski is 52 years old; he was born on 28 April 1974 in Branice (Diocese of Opole). He made his first religious profession on 8 September 1994 and his solemn profession on 25 March 1999. He was ordained a priest on 10 June 2000. In recent years, he has led the German Province of the Order, coordinating the activities of the Pauline Fathers in Germany.

New General Council

Together with the Father General, the Chapter elected the members of the new Council (Definitorium), which is composed as follows:

  • Fr. Piotr Łoza – Vicar General of the Order (First General Definitor)
  • Fr. Grzegorz Prus – Second General Definitor
  • Fr. Wojciech Dec – Third General Definitor
  • Br. Bernard Kluczkowski – Fourth General Definitor
  • Fr. Zbigniew Gołębiewski – Procurator General at the Holy See
  • Fr. Marek Moga – General Administrator
  • Fr. Bartłomiej Maziarka – General Secretary
