New General Government of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart and of Our Lady of Guadalupe

Within the framework of the 17th General Chapter of the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart and of Our Lady of Guadalupe, held in Mexico, the new General Government that will lead the institute in the coming years has been elected.

The Rev. Fr. José Guadalupe Estrada Navarro, MSC has been chosen as the new Superior General, following a process of discernment and prayer carried out by the capitulars.

He will be accompanied on the General Council by:

  • Vicar General and First Councilor: Rev. Fr. Ignacio Alcalá Alcalá, MSC

  • Second Councilor: Rev. Fr. Javier Alberto Guerrero Enríquez, MSC

  • Third Councilor: Rev. Fr. Alejandro Tadeo Ibarra González, MSC

  • Fourth Councilor: Rev. Fr. Humberto Fabián Campos, MSC

The election was announced during a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Most Rev. Ramón Castro Castro, Bishop of Cuernavaca and President of the Mexican Episcopal Conference.

Through this appointment, the Congregation reaffirms its commitment to remain faithful to the charism of its founder, Father Teodosio Martínez Ramos, while responding to the pastoral and missionary needs of today's Church and world.
