New Superior General of the Marist Brothers: Br. Peter Gerard Carroll

Br. Peter Gerard Carroll, of Star of the Sea, has been elected the new Superior General of the Institute of the Marist Brothers. This significant moment took place on September 30, 2025, during the 23rd General Chapter held in Tagaytay, Philippines, from September 8 to October 8, 2025. The theme is "A Home for All, a River of Life". As a representative assembly, the Chapter will focus on defining the direction of the Marist Institute for the coming years, emphasizing a renewed zeal to bring Christ's message to children and young people worldwide.
Br. Peter, who becomes the 15th Superior General of the Institute, will exercise leadership for the next eight years, guiding the Marist Institute with faith, vision, and dedication. His election marks a new chapter in the mission of the Marists of Champagnat to continue the charism of Saint Marcellin Champagnat: making Jesus Christ known and loved, especially among children and young people.
We entrust the leadership of Br. Peter Carroll to the care of Mary, the Good Mother, and we pray for wisdom and strength as he begins this important service.
