General Chapter of the Holy Family of Martinengo: the new Superior General elected

The Congregation of the Holy Family, gathered in a General Chapter in Bergamo in May 2025, celebrated a moment of great significance for its institutional and ecclesial life.
On May 13, 2025, the capitular delegates elected Father Giovanni Prina as the new Superior General, successor to Father Gianmarco Paris, to whom the Congregation expresses its gratitude for the service carried out with generosity and dedication during his mandate.
At the same time, the members of the General Council were elected, called to collaborate with the Superior General in guiding the Congregation:

Br. Ailton Volpato Rodrigues, Second Counselor;

Fr. Roberto Maver, Third Counselor;

Biographical note on Fr. Giovanni Prina
Father Giovanni Prina was born in Pavia on August 18, 1972. After completing scientific studies and earning a degree in Infrastructure Engineering (1999), he joined the Congregation of the Holy Family in Martinengo, making his first vows in 2002 and his perpetual profession in 2005. Ordained a priest on April 14, 2007, at the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Bozzola in Garlasco, he has held prominent positions in the formation and life of the Congregation: General Counselor, Secretary General (2007–2020), rector of the Seminary, and rector-parish priest of the Bozzola Sanctuary.
Since 2020, he has served as Local Superior of the religious community in Orzinuovi and educational director of the Holy Family Institute. He has enriched his formation with studies in spiritual theology, graduating magna cum laude in 2013, and later in Educational and Training Sciences at the Catholic University, obtaining a bachelor's degree in 2022 and a master's degree in Educational Planning in 2025, both cum laude.
