Fr. Luigi Buccarello re-elected Minister General of the Order of the Most Holy Trinity and of the Captives

During the General Chapter of the Order of the Most Holy Trinity and of the Captives, held in Rome from June 8 to 22, 2025, Father Luigi Buccarello was re-elected as Minister General. The re-election took place on June 12, 2025, reaffirming the trust placed in him for the 2025–2031 term.
Father Buccarello was born on December 6, 1974, in Gagliano del Capo (LE), Italy. He made his religious profession in 1998 and was ordained a priest in December 1999, He has held various positions within the Order, including Minister Provincial and, since 2019, Minister General.
A theologian and professor, his work has focused on religious freedom, interreligious dialogue, youth and vocational ministry, and he has promoted missionary efforts across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.

On June 20, 2025, the Chapter participants were received in solemn audience in the Clementine Hall of the Apostolic Palace by Pope Leo XIV, who praised the role of the Trinitarians in the life of the Church, in continuity with the support previously shown by Pope Francis in 2019 for the Trinitarian charism.
