New General Council of the Missionaries of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary

The 20th General Chapter of the Missionaries of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary took place from 19 January to 2 February.
In this Chapter they asked themselves how to recreate the charism of the new cordiality for the 21st century: Open arms to welcome everyone, without exclusion; help heal wounded hearts; serve the Pierced in the pierced; announce the Gospel to the poor.
They have renewed their General Animation Team, electing Fr. Antonio Fernández Cano (Spain) as Superior General, Fr. Emilio Velasco Triviño (Spain) as Vicar and Secretary, Fr. Dominique Savio Tuyisenge (Rwanda) for Administrator, Frs Anaclet Mbuguje (Rwanda) and Paulin Neme (Cameroon) for Councilors.
The Chapter took place at
the Shrine of Lluc (Mallorca), which the Congregation has managed for 128
years. Its motto was: "Attracted and sent by a God with a heart!"
