Re-election of the Superior General of the Congregation of Saint Peter in Chains

The Congregation of Saint Peter in Chains, whose General House is located in Barcelona, is currently holding its Ordinary General Chapter, which began on July 9 and will conclude on July 19, 2025, in accordance with its Constitutions.

During this gathering, which takes place every six years, the Congregation's journey was evaluated, new pastoral and community directions were discussed, and the election of the new General Government took place.

On July 15, 2025, Father Evando Batista de Moraes was re-elected as Superior General for a new six-year term.

The new General Council was also established, composed of:

• Fr. Marcos Rogério de Oliveira – Vicar General

• Fr. Filipe Pereira Lucas Coelho – Councillor

• Fr. Cidimar Rodrigues – Councillor

• Fr. Antônio Carlos Saraiva – Councillor
