Possagno (TV), July 26, 2025 – On the liturgical Memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne, the 36th Ordinary General Chapter of the Cavanis Institute, held under the theme "Joyful in hope and united in the common Cavanis vocation," experienced one of its most significant and anticipated moments: the election of the new General Government for the 2025–2031 term.

The day began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Father Benjamin Insoni Nzemé, from the Delegation of Congo, who invoked the special assistance of the Holy Spirit to guide the Assembly in discerning the Institute's future with peace and clarity. The liturgy served as a profound moment of prayer and fraternal communion, an essential spiritual foundation for the electoral process.

The President, of the Chapter, Father Manoel Rosa, has convened the plenary session to initiate the electoral proceedings. After a time of reflection, clarification, and prayer, the election of the new Superior General (Preposito Generale) was held. With broad consensus and in a spirit of serene participation, Father Rogério Diesel was elected. He had been serving as Superior of the "Cavanis do Brasil" Province for just over a year. His election was met with great joy and gratitude by the Chapter delegates.

In the afternoon, the Assembly continued its work with the election of the four General Councilors who will assist the new Superior General in leading the Institute throughout the next six years:

  • Father Giuseppe Moni (Italy) – First Councilor and Vicar General

  • Father Alvise Bellinato (Italy) – Second General Councilor

  • Father Emmanuel Kifuti Kiese (Democratic Republic of Congo) – Third General Councilor

  • Father Francisco Armando Arriaga Moran (Ecuador) – Fourth General Councilor
