Father Joseph Roesch, MIC, a priest of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy in the Provinces of the United States and Argentina, was elected Superior General of the worldwide Congregation of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary for six years.

Father Roesch, 62, who was ordained a priest in 1992, served in Rome as Vicar General of the Marian Congregation.

Former rector of the National Shrine of Divine Mercy, Father Roesch is a popular speaker and a familiar presence on television (co-host of the annual Divine Mercy Sunday broadcast on EWTN) and on the Internet (travel documentaries including "France: A Pilgrimage with Mary"). He is the author of several popular podcasts, including "The Diary of Saint Faustina in a Year" and the current "Diary of Blessed George Matulaitis".

Fr. Roesch currently heads the worldwide Marian Congregation, founded in Poland in 1670 by St. Stanislaus Papczynski and consisting of about 500 priests and brothers working in 18 countries, including the United States, Argentina, Belarus, Brazil, Cameroon, the Czech Republic, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Rwanda, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

A fraternal community of consecrated life in the Roman Catholic Church, the Marians are known for their devotion to Mary Immaculate, dedication to prayer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, promotion of the message and devotion to Divine Mercy, and active service to Christ and His Church wherever they are most needed.

The General Chapter was held in Rome on 6-17 February 2023, and elected the new General Government :
