On Monday, 14 November, during the general chapter held in Camaldoli (diocese of Arezzo), Dom Matteo Ferrari was elected prior of Camaldoli and prior general of the Camaldolese Congregation of the Order of Saint Benedict. The monk succeeds Dom Alessandro Barban who governed the monastic Congregation for twelve years.
The 18th General Chapter of the Xaverians was held in Bukavu (DR Congo) from 1 to 23 July 2023 and had as its theme: Loving our Xaverian vocation.

Fr. Abzalón Alvarado, msc, has been elected as Superior General of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. The election took place at the General Chapter which the Congregation held in the city of Nemi, near Rome. Fr. Abzalón is from Guatemala.
