"Building bridges across cultures means learning to listen, understand, and communicate within diversity".
The Scalabrini International Migration Institute (SIMI) and the UISG International Network for Migrants and Refugees continue their joint training programme for women religious accompanying migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, itinerant people, and their families.
The webinar will offer a space for deeper reflection on the fundamental principles of intercultural communication, helping participants understand how culture influences perception, behaviours, and communication styles. The sessions will also provide practical tools to recognize and overcome prejudices, stereotypes, and misunderstandings that may arise in multicultural contexts.
Particular attention will be given to the creation of inclusive and culturally aware content, distinguishing between authentic representation and cultural appropriation. Through practical examples and communication strategies, the programme aims to foster communication that values diversity and builds bridges across cultures.
The sessions will be led by Veronica de Santis (SIMI).
The meetings will take place online on 3 June and 10 June 2026, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM (Rome time).
